Hi all!
My name is Dan and I own a van.
Actually it is the second van I have owned since driving.
My first van was in 1988 ish. It was an early 70's Chevy extended 1/2 ton cargo. Straight six, three speed manual converted from the tree to the floor.
Paid $300 for it and drove/abused it for a couple years.
It was creepy ugly but I loved it. It hauled all my Friends around with fold out foam furniture in the back and hauled my ATV and my friends dirt bikes to go off roading and partying.
Years go by. I have played with street bikes, fast cars and lost my license, decide to play off road with Jeeps, then get responsible commuting cars.
Then I decide to get back into what I love. Street bikes, ATV's, Jeeps. The Jeeps have been daily drivers, but my latest has started to become more an off road toy. So I need another vehicle. One that was comfy, roomy, and be able to tow a trailer.
20 years later I buy my second van. it's a 01' Ford E-250, 5.4L, Tuscany conversion van. I haven't done anything with it yet except a Hyper tech Eco programmer.
Of course I can't leave anything alone/stock, so first plans are replace the old TV with a flat screen and enhance the interior mood lighting. I have ideas about replacing the fender flares/running boards also. I dream about doing a 4x4 conversion or at least a full floater dually rear axle swap.

Thanks!
My dogs love the all the room to lounge in the van.
Much better than crammed into my Jeep. A lot easier to get in and out of also.
Planning on taking them for a road trip down to FL this year. The van should make it a lot nicer.
Gonna look for a light car trailer this year to haul my Jeep around when I go four wheeling. Won't have to worry so much about breaking something and still getting it back home.

I know it's nothing really custom. But I did relace the old TV with a flatscreen with built in DVD player.
Also added some funky led lights to the original mood lighting. Sound and color fade modes. Yeah kinda geeky I know. Maybe need a stripper pole.
I been checking a duall rear wheel conversion kit. Looks like it's set up for e-350's with a F/F rear axle. Wondering if I went to the bone yard and got a rear axle and wheels from an F-350 if it would bolt in (spring perch mounts the same?).

Nice job on the lighting and the TV.
No the truck rear is different from everything that I have read. _________________

Thanks and damn. I was hoping it would be a bolt in.
So did you put a kit on yours. Is your axle a full float? Mine isn't.

Mine was done by Quigley when they did the 4x4. I still don't know for sure if they used the factory rear or if it was swapped out for a different one, but all the brakes, hardware, etc. are Ford parts. The pumpkin is a Dana 70.
I'm also a little confused by what guys are calling full floaters vs. semi floating rears. Mine is like a standard Dana 70 where you unbolt the axles from the outer hub and slide the whole axle out. Then remove all the stop pins, nut, bearings etc. _________________

Oh OK thanks. I was on vacation/road trip to FL then NC last week.
Yeah I was always under the impression that the full float had the protruding bearing carrier in the center of the wheel and the semi float had the flat center like mine does.
