That's a nice looking van Cyber! Sidepipes too, I like those, and have the same type. That pictures is just about the way I remember things, including the sideburns. ;0)
I get a charge out of the van-shaped logo on the sign. It's a real "sign of the times" so to speak, and just totally says "fun!"
Would those vans have been painted with lacquer paints?
Do you suppose your friend would have anymore vintage pictures? It's always awesome when someone comes up with them. I sure wish I had taken more back then. One of my friends was crazy about taking pictures, and has shoeboxes full and they're all dated and cataloged, but he's sort of a recluse in the mountains in West Virginia now; I'd never pry them out of his hands for even a second.
BTW, all the properties in PA were signed off Monday, so there's checks heading our way. I need to figure out the record keeping requirements for the taxes, but I can probably make the warm weather as hoped! My son and I are getting fired up! _________________ Learning the control of obdurate matter

Those where awesome dayz.......this company was ahead of its time in a way......ill reveal more about who owned and ran this monster.......because the money and management behind us was the biggest bank in the county and it was structured the way it should have been..this wasnt a company run by young visionaries..
This was a company run by automotive industry insiders who saw this trend coming and hired young visionaries like myself to bring the youth intoi it and make it happen.
The president was a reginal dealer from motor city Detroit who had the east coast district.............he oversaw the product going to dealers and the vice was the owner of the bank.........we had deeeeeep pockets and an inside connection..........they knew nothing about custom vans, so they relied heavily on our visions for them.......a unique time no-doubt which is why i claim the paint i do.......there will never ever be virgin territory like that again.
yea all lacquers....i think in one post i mentioned the PPG-DMA mixing bench......there wernt that many of them in the state at the time.........but yea we had a complete acrylic chemistry set and carried every product for that bench.........it was cool
I just joined facebook and am in contact with a lot of the old days....there scaring up what they can find........i lost all mine in the fire but im hoping with all my friends i can scare up some ol vans
sound like your summer is going to let you paint this year........right on _________________ Keeping the old paint and traditions alive........www.DocCyberCustoms.com
